Strengthening food systems with an alliance for Haitian smallholder farmers

“We believe every Haitian should be fed, and Haitians can feed Haiti.” This is a motto of the Haiti Food Systems Alliance, which works to bring about fundamental and lasting economic change in the lives of rural farming families and communities. The 14 partner organizations in the alliance operate across Haiti in three areas – production (direct work with farmers, including provision of seeds and livestock), service (research, tools and capacity building to increase farmer productivity) and feeding (ensuring the supply of local food to Haitian hospitals, schools and families in need).
