Celebrating Pride Month in WKKF’s priority places

Starting as a day to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising in June 1969, LGBTQ Pride Month is now observed in the United States and across the globe through parades, marches, parties, concerts and many other community gatherings. We’ve curated a list of events in our priority places – check out some of the celebrations near you!  

Michigan 

Mississippi  

Mexico 

  • Mexico City Pride kicks off with the Marcha de la Diversidad at 10:00 a.m. on June 25, beginning at El Ángel de la Independencia victory column in Zona Rosa and continuing to Zocalo. 

New Mexico

  • Albuquerque PrideFest. The second largest parade in New Mexico will take place on June 11, starting with the Pride Parade in Nob Hill.
  • Pride Santa Fe. The Pride Drive Parade will take place at Santa Fe Plaza on June 25, starting at 11:00 a.m.   
  • Las Cruces Pride Celebration. The 2022 Pride Celebration will begin on September 24 and lead up to Pride on the Plaza on October 1. 

New Orleans 

  • New Orleans Pride. The New Orleans Pride Parade takes place on June 11 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., and Pride events will occur throughout June.

  • Black Pride NOLA takes place between June 30 and July 2, with a weekend of events celebrating the black LGBTQ+ community and culture.
Minda Corso
Minda is the digital communications manager at the foundation. She is responsible for hands-on execution of integrated digital marketing and communications strategies to support organizational as well as internal and external communications goals and objectives. She works with the communications team to identify, develop and execute digital marketing and communications tactics across the WKKF digital ecosystem. She collaborates with organizational peers and teams to elevate the foundation’s strategies, programmatic priorities, and relationships with priority audiences, including internal staff, grantees and external stakeholders.
