Our Village United is launching ELEVATE Mississippi, an incubator program serving small businesses with the most urgent needs, such as technical assistance and capital.

Executive Director Lakeysha Hallmon told the Atlanta Voice that she was raised in Batesville, Mississippi, which inspired the launch of Our Village United and ELEVATE.

“My home state is bursting at the seams with talented Mississippians primed to become trendsetters in innovation,” she said. “These potential business owners are what we need to introduce economically stimulating businesses that will boost job opportunities and the overall economy throughout the Magnolia State. However, what sits at the cornerstone of any successful business is a robust ecosystem that offers technical assistance, back-office support, and capital.”

ELEVATE Mississippi plans to focus on building partnerships within their state and with Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Their 12-week incubator provides small businesses with a tool kit of resources to accelerate growth, including mentorship and wellness support.
