Fathers Building Futures

0

Uriyah Samario’s journey through Fathers Building Futures (FBF) has led him to a future filled with hope — for himself, his family and his community. Breaking free from cycles of trauma and destructive behavior is one of the hardest — and most powerful — transformations a person can make. With the right support, change becomes possible.

With support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, FBF is helping formerly incarcerated fathers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, do just that. The organization provides hands-on job training in trades such as woodworking and welding, paired with parenting classes, counseling and mentorship. Fathers gain not only practical skills but also the confidence and stability they need to rebuild their lives, reduce the risk of returning to prison and reconnect with their children.

Through this blend of paid training and wraparound support, FBF creates opportunities for fathers to heal, find purpose and step into the role models they aspire to be.

In this video, follow Samario as he prepares to graduate from the program, marking a milestone in his journey toward healing from the past and building a brighter future.
