
COMMON GOOD JXN seeks to create opportunities for people in Jackson, Miss., and across the country to discover the commonalities, explore the good, and build the trust required to have the more challenging conversations about racial healing and racial equity.
In essence, we want to use the things we hold in common to bring us close enough to have courageous conversations about how our understanding of race has affected us as individuals and the broader community we share.

During the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship PGA tour event, 10 college students from institutions in and around Jackson, Miss., participated in courageous conversations about how their understanding of race has affected us them individuals and the broader community they share. These reels introduce the students and their stories.

In early 2024, we brought students and families from Jackson Public Schools and St. Andrews Episcopal School to discuss their thoughts about race and racial healing at the Two Mississippi Museums. This video highlights the conversations and reflections they shared after exploring the history and legacy of Mississippi’s Civil Rights Movement together.
This series of audio episodes dive deeper into the conversations and reflections about race and racial healing from the ten college students who participated in the Sanderson Farms Championship event. Each episode explores themes from the conversations and dives deeper to examine ways we can promote racial healing and begin our personal healing journey.
The Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) initiative in Mississippi is being led by the Foundation for the Mid-South, an organization that help communities develop solutions to better conditions and improve lives. The Mississippi THRT initiative promotes racial healing through a focus on narrative change, storytelling, relationship building and economic transformation.
